Large Batch Sage Apple Cocktail
Fall cocktails couldn’t be easier with this make-ahead, large-batch Sage Apple Cocktail.
I will not be bartending on Thanksgiving Day. No way, but I love having this self-serve cocktail ready to go.
This recipe serves 8. I doubled it in the video. I triple it in real life 😉.
Here’s what you need:
1/4 cup honey
1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
2 Tbs apple butter
6 large, fresh sage leaves (garden, we ❤️ you!)
8 oz. @titosvodka
4 oz. orange liqueur
1.5 cups good quality apple cider
1/4 cup lemon juice (I use the fresh-squeezed from HEB)
Spiced Apple Sparkling Water from @waterloosparkling
Apples and sage to garnish
In a small pan, bring 1/2 cup water, honey, and ginger to a boil for about 5 min. Add sage leaves and apple butter. Stir. Remove from heat. Cool completely.
In a large pitcher:
Combine honey mixture, vodka, orange liqueur, apple cider, and lemon juice. Stir.
If you’re making ahead - I like leaving the sage leaves and ginger in the drink mix. It just gets better and better in the fridge. If making same-day, you can strain out the ginger and sage if you want.
Rim glasses with agave, sugar, and cinnamon. Add ice. Fill cup 3/4 full with cocktail mix. Top with Waterloo Spiced Apple sparkling water or plain sparkling water.
Cheers to working less on Thanksgiving Day!
