Mushrooms in the Garden

Have you walked out to your garden and noticed mushrooms pop up out of the blue?

Mushrooms are a fungus that can grow in your grass, landscaping, trees, and even your garden beds!

They will appear when the environmental conditions are right for their development.

While we know mushrooms to be delicious, you absolutely should not consume any mushrooms appearing in your garden. They are more than likely to be toxic to you and your pets.

They grow in all shapes and sizes, but guessing which ones may be safe to eat can be a deadly game!

Mushrooms in your garden likely stem from the decaying matter in the garden, such as old roots decomposing.

It is a good thing that they grow, as it is ultimately a sign of healthy soil and a healthy environment! There is no reason to worry when you see them.

You can remove the mushrooms and dispose of them, or just let them decompose back into your garden!
