To seal the inside of the bed (optional, but does extend the life of the bed):
Use 20% beeswax to 80% oil (vegetable oil is fine). Example: 2 oz of beeswax to 8 oz of vegetable oil.
Mix together over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the wax has melted.
Apply wax solution to the inside of the planter with a paint brush.
Let sit for 2-3 hours before filling with soil.
